The Northwest AI Hub at UC Davis is committed to inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers through hands-on K-12 STEM education and outreach programs. We engage students and teachers across California with interactive workshops, summer camps, and research internships focused on semiconductors, AI, robotics, and data science. Our programs provide high school students with paid research internships, allowing them to work alongside UC Davis faculty on cutting-edge projects. We also host STEM camps and hands-on workshops, where students explore semiconductor fabrication in UC Davis’ cleanroom, build and fly drones, and engage in exciting science demonstrations like superconducting levitation and liquid nitrogen ice cream making. Additionally, our teacher training workshops equip educators with the knowledge and resources to introduce semiconductor technologies and microelectronics into their classrooms. Through these initiatives, we aim to spark curiosity, expand career awareness, and cultivate a future-ready workforce in emerging technologies
