As the Northwest AI Hub at UC Davis We are excited to invite undergraduate students at UC Davis, CSUS, and community colleges at Greater Sacramento and Stockton Area with Engineering, Computer Science, Physics and Chemistry majors, to apply for a paid summer internship hosted at UC Davis Campus and partner organizations in Summer 2026.

Sponsored by Federal Government Grants, this internship provides students with hands-on experience in semiconductor microelectronics technology, aligning with national priorities in the CHIPS and Science Act. Participants will work on cutting-edge projects focused on designing, manufacturing, testing, and applying semiconductor technologies. Fellows will collaborate in teams under the guidance of UC Davis faculty and industry scientists from partner companies.

In today’s rapidly evolving technology landscape, this DoD-supported program offers a unique opportunity for students to:

✅ Explore exciting technology careers in microelectronics
✅ Obtain hands-on cleanroom training and explore semiconductor technology and microfabrication techniques.
✅ Participate in a cohort model for professional development and networking

Internship Structure

  • Duration: 6 to 10 weeks
  • Location: UC Davis Campus
  • Stipend: $800 per week
  • Commitment: Minimum 30 hours per week of hands-on training & professional development
  • Final Symposium: Participants will showcase their project outcomes in OCT 2026

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate students at UC Davis, Sacramento State University, and Community Colleges in the Greater Sacramento and Stockton areas
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Must have completed at least 30 quarter units (or 20 semester units) of non-remedial college-level courses
  • At least 50% of completed coursework must be in STEM disciplines
