Semiconductor manufacturing, especially in the fabrication sector, faces a significant image and awareness challenge, resulting in a limited pipeline of young talent, despite the fact that this discipline offers profound opportunities in science, technology education, research, and career growth. To spark curiosity and build interest, the UC Davis NSF ExLENT funded BE-STARSE Junior Fellows Program in partnership with Northwest AI Hub has created an engaging, hands-on training module that brings microfabrication to life through interactive workshops.
This spring, we will be hosting a six-day BE-STARSE Junior Fellowship Spring Workshop, and we would greatly appreciate your help in sharing this opportunity with highschool students in your network.
The workshop will be hosted at both the UC Davis College of Engineering and the San Joaquin County Office of Education FabLab, with 25 spots available.
Sessions will take place on March 7 (UC Davis); March 14, 21, April 4, and 11 (SJCOE); and will conclude on April 18 at UC Davis Picnic Day, when participants will receive a certificate of completion.
Students who excel in the program will also be eligible for paid summer internship opportunities.
Please feel free to share the attached flyer with your students. Students can click here to apply. Students must apply by January 31st. An application does not guarantee admission to the workshop. All applicants will be informed of their acceptance status by February 28th.
Thank you for helping us spread the word!
